Mattel
PJ is an experienced marketing and entertainment executive with over 15 years leading global businesses. He is currently at Mattel driving strategic development initiatives to jumpstart growth, which include a leadership role on the Mattel China Growth Team, building the plan for an American Girl strategic transformation, a partnership with Hollywood visionary JJ Abrams’ Bad Robot, and working to create value across the Mattel business portfolio. Prior to this role, PJ led the Mattel Games Division by revitalizing iconic brands including UNO and Scrabble with innovative branding, communication, and product strategies, including the first ever UNO social influencer campaign.
During his career PJ has created the vision for some of the world’s most visible consumer franchises, such as leading the Monster High global franchise from $400 million to over a $1 billion in retail sales and forging industry partnerships which include DC Entertainment, Warner Bros., WWE, and more. PJ has also led a variety of firsts and new product launches at Mattel, including securing the Minecraft business, the most successful gaming to toy launch ever for Mattel, and the award-winning relaunch of Viewmaster asa VR platformin both the US and China. He has experience leading across multiple disciplines including business development, brand storytelling, content distribution, digital media, and product design.
Prior to Mattel, PJ worked in the Strategic Planning group for 21stCentury Fox Studioin Los Angeles and started his career in finance in New York. He has an MBA from the University of Southern California and a BA in History from the University of Pennsylvania. PJ serves on the Corporate Partnerships Council of Save the Children and fundraises for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America LA Chapter. He and his wife Amanda live in Los Angeles where they are frequently chasing down their two sons Owen and Gabe.
