Paula Carter is a writer, editor and professor whose publication credits include The New York Times, USA Today, Christian Science Monitor, and other print and online media. Since joining Social Capital, Carter, who has more than a decade’s worth of experience in nonprofit communications, has served as a senior writer to leading nonprofits, including the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee, World Wildlife Fund, American Cancer Society and Alzheimer’s Association.
Prior to joining Social Capital, Carter served as the editorial manager of INTER, a digital magazine that explores religious diversity in America – a subsidiary of Interfaith America. She began her writing career in communications at the Harvard College Libraries, where she wrote articles about the school.
Carter is a lecturer at Northwestern University’s School of Professional Studies, where she teaches writing workshops for graduate students. In addition, she is a company member of 2nd Story, Chicago’s premier storytelling organization.
The author of the book “No Relation,” Carter holds an MFA from Indiana University, Bloomington, where she was the Darrell Burton Fellow in Creative Writing and the Fiction Editor for the Indiana Review.
