Lorena Hidalgo

Lorena Hidalgo is an event and marketing professional with deep experience in corporate, nonprofit and higher education events. Her expertise includes strategic planning and execution of conferences, trade shows, fundraising events and galas. She is also skilled in email marketing, project management and corporate sponsor/donor relations.

Since joining Social Capital, Hidalgo has managed events and marketing for Social Capital Community offerings geared toward senior leaders from top nonprofits, corporations and foundations. These projects and initiatives include Social Capital’s annual invite-only conference, year-round thought leader webinars and What We’re Tracking newsletter.

Prior to Social Capital, Hidalgo worked in higher education as the Director of Alumni Relations & Special Events in the Office of Philanthropy at St. Thomas University. While there, she managed and executed fundraising, stewardship, alumni and other university-wide events. Hidalgo developed and maintained relationships with alumni and provided them with meaningful opportunities for engagement and volunteerism. She worked closely with the Annual Fund Director to secure donations for the Annual Fund program and with the Development Officers to cultivate relationships with donors and to enhance their loyalty and dedication to and support for the university.

Hidalgo earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Florida International University.
