Alexander Nanau is a German-Romanian filmmaker. His documentary film, THE WORLD ACCORDING TO ION B was awarded an International Emmy Award in 2010. His feature-length documentary film TOTO AND HIS SISTERS was a European Academy Award nominee in 2015. His latest feature-length documentary, COLLECTIVE, premiered at the Venice International Film Festival 2019, at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival, and in the Spotlight section of the 2020 Sundance Film Festival. Most recently, Collective was declared eligible at this year’s Oscars for Best Documentary Feature and is Romania's entry for Best International Feature Film.
